cake pop frenzy...

It is what it is! I had a few fun orders this week and of course only took pictures of them on my camera phone. That's the only way I'll do them since my camera is on hiatus and I'm kind of lagging on getting my new camera... But as of tomorrow my brand new MyTouch 4G phone comes in the mail and I will be taking better quality photos with my camera phone :D makes me soooo happy that I will now be technologically HIP!
Unfortunately, i didn't get pictures of all the different variations I made for each order but here IS what I got:Froggy themed baby shower... where ARE those frogs? I don't know... maybe hiding under these lily pads...
Here's one for a pretty "beachin" bachelorette party! Sandy pops for the bride to be!

and last, but not least my rockin tattoo pops made especially for "Big J" over at In The Skin Tattoos in Fullerton.
It may have been a busy week, but I did have a nice relaxing weekend! The fam headed over to a fun pirate party for a special 4 year old! Kaeden got a small taste of whats coming to him in November! We had a blast! And there was an AMAZING bubble show! Like I said my camera is put away on time out as we speak so unfortunately I don't have my own photos of Kaeden inside the big bubble! I'll have to wait to share those! And luckily that night at our New Moon viewing... only half of our group decided to show up which meant... relaxing time for us mommas! Watermelon margaritas and pizza? YES PLEASE! Okay okay so we'll make up for it for our Eclipse viewing DON'T JUDGE ME!
Stick around there will be some pictures to be posting very soon :D Im getting some photography done again of my pops and this means I'm one step closer to getting my site up and running!!! AAAND also keep your eyes peeled as im starting to put together my Thanksgiving Pop Bouquets together! Pictures will be posted asap for you to feast your eyes on and get those orders in!!!

Family photos and forgotten pops...

Thats right. I'm just ending this post with the title because thats exactly what happened. Well, we had our family pictures done today... THAT WAS A SUPER UPSIDE!!!! I'm soooooo excited!!!!!! I've had my appointment made since JANUARY! Yeah, I said it... JANUARY! I was looking for a particular type of photography. I wanted something modern and colorful and unique... and I found all those things and more in Tulips & Tangerines Photography. We have literally been throwing ideas at each other for 8 months and honestly came up with the perfect location last minute! We went to Santa Fe Depot in Fullerton and had an AMAZING time with Valerie! She was great with my son and literally had conversation with us throughout our entire shoot... it was so natural we were never posed we were just "us." She brought it to my attention to bring some pops to eat for the shoot and I was ON IT! I was so excited I made them boxed them and set them on my counter so I wouldn't forget them... and I TOTALLY forgot them! Really?!?! That only meant one thing... we were gonna have to meet up again and have our boys do a mini shoot/play date with pops :D Now THAT'S gonna be fun! Here's a little sneak peak she sent us last a few hours after our shoot... and I'm IN LOVE!
Now that I have a bit of time to make some more fun pops... I'm trying to figure out what pops to make?! For sure I have 2 picked out already. I have an order for baby shower pops and bridal shower pops this week... and both aren't traditional... so they won't look anything like this :D

So your just gonna have to wait and see... teehee!
And as you're reading my website is in development! I have such an amazing friend and business partner there are no words to express the love I have for this girl!!!! She is the reason I've gotten this far with cake popping otherwise I'd still be too scared for a blog and even a Facebook page LOL!!! Thanks WQ! You'll be hearing and seeing a lot of her throughout this blog... especially since we ARE having our "New Moon" viewing next weekend... AAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!! ANYHOW...When the website is all done... you will know :D

You Twilight My Life Part 2

We got our printables from the most amazing Hostess with the Mostess. And will continue to print as we move along in the movies! I made the little food tags in the pictures shown and unfortunately didn't take time to photograph the drink tags i made for the stems of our glasses... I will remember this for our next viewing!
We filled rootbeer bottles with some yummy homemade margaritas... of course they were red!!!
We also made some delicious apple martinis... those were eventually enjoyed with a licorice straw... yummy!

And of course the rest of our night was fabulous and we ate, drank, watched, critiqued and played :D Our menu for the night was all things vegitarian since Miss Bella is portrayed as a vegitarian in the book... so we had some cheese ravioli in marinara sauce, garlic bread, fruit and salad.

We already can't wait for our next viewing of "New Moon" and for all of you that are Team Jacob... this is YOUR night!

You Twilight My Life... Part 1

I had a fabulous weekend because of one night! My friend and I have decided to hold a countdown to Breaking Dawn part 1 viewing party at her home! And with two of us pitching in on our budget... we were able to pull off a GREAT night without our husbands ripping our heads off!!!! We started by sending out invites... so that only meant that I had to learn photoshop and fast... LOL!!!So I used the first official Breaking Dawn poster as the background and downloaded the twilight font off of somewhere I can't remember... but I've located these to sites that can be used: ffonts.com and dafont.com. We borrowed the wording from a party featured on Hostess with the Mostess. (Actually by coincidence the person I borrowed this from showed up as a featured party on HWTM. I can't find out where I first found her party and luckily she popped up where I'm constantly stalking!) I just switched it up a bit to personalize US in it. THANKS!!!!
So, I feel I can safetly say that I may be getting the hang of this party decoration thing... and I'm totally loving it! Yet I couldn't have come up with this alone... I do have an incredible friend who SUCKS for getting me into this whole Twilight thing... but if it wasn't for HER insanity... I wouldn't have had the opportunity to be a part of this :D And with this being shared why don't I just go photo happy... in 3...2...1... AAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!
(Viewer Discretion is Advised.....)
I had a BLAST making these just because the colors were sooooo.... whats the word? OH! So... Twilight :D Strawberry Cake pops with red and black swirled piping by Rockin' the Cake Pop!
Marshmallow pops that I made as well... Seriously the easiest way to add some more color to party tables... literally Stick, Dip, and decorate... DONE!! And who doesn't love chocolate dipped marshmallows???
Extra cookie dough... extra candy coating = Sugar cookies drizzled with pretty sprinkles!
And lastly the cupcakes... topped with red and black sugar crystals... WHOA NELLY talk about a diabetic coma to come!
We had our pretty little "sweets corner" filled with all these yummy sweets including the Twilight apple pops and some candies including Hot Tamales and Red hots and Red Vines... oh yeah...

So what IS my thing?

If you know me... you know that I LOVE celebrations. Celebrations of all kinds!!! Birthdays, weddings, showers, bachelorettes etc etc. I've always felt the need to go "all out" for these occasions. And as i plan these things (typically 6 months in advance... yes I've started even a year in advance... don't LOOK AT ME LIKE THAT!) i swear to Buddha that its gonna be amazing!!!

**This is where i stop my story and jump to another... don't worry we'll get back to the one above after this break.... I talk like this too so GET USED TO IT!**

Only recently have i been introduced to a variety of blogs. I used to think that blogs were just online diaries. I had no clue about this whole other world of blogs... of creative blogs... where people get together and share their baking, cooking, party planning stories..... BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!! (If you were my computer screen looking at me while I just screamed you would have seen my hair stand strait out at all parts of my head and my eyes bulge out of my head!) Well, this is where i learned that I had great intentions... but in reality... i was.... GHHHEEEEEEETTTTOOOOOOOO! :/

-----------------------------------TAP TAP PLACEY'S BACK!-----------------------------

So, when I came to this horrible discovery, I realized I had to hurry up and plan something amazing and totally redeem myself. NO I do NOT have a party planning business, NO I do NOT have friends who expect me to blow them away... As I have said earlier, my worst enemy is MYSELF. So I had to redeem myself to ~~~~>MYSELF!!! ugh... and do you know how much that SUCKS!!!! If I can go into 3rd person mode for a second I'll explain: Nessa is such a sh*tty judge!!!! Too much of a perfectionist.... its quite annoying... she always tries to one up herself and it never ends. Anyhow, returning from my adult add moment.... um.... OH YES! I had to plan something... and what do you know???? My hubby's birthday was coming up :D :::GASP::: It was PERFECT!!! And to make it even more exciting my very close friend was flying in from Nashville and her birthday is the day after my hubby's!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKK!!!! Time to plan a party!!! So, we decided on a theme: "WhiskeyFest 'Stache" Bash!!! Well, how in the hell can you have whiskey without having a stache?!?!??! pshhh.... Well, this is what turned out of it.

Ehhhhh.... it had great ideas and great potential, but GOOD LORRRRD do I need to work on tablescapes... bleh! NO ME GUSTA!!!!!!! Anyhow, my friends all had a blast!!!! EVERYONE got into the 'stache theme and the beer tasting went FANTASTIC!!! It was def a great night!!!!! I got all my ideas by searching the web of course, but I borrowed most of my ideas from here. And i've also discovered that i am NEVER EVER EVER looking anywhere else for personalized products unless you can find something less expensive... otherwise its Vistaprints FO LIIIIFE!

So I am currently on a mission to make my tables super pretty :D As I'm learning I'm starting to have fun creating cuter arrangements for my cake pops and cupcakes :D and i did a nice little practice run for my mom's birthday :D

I had a budget and it was all last minute so its not THE BEST... but its better than my last. Luckily i literally had almost EVERYTHING on hand in my cupboard. I had tons of left over chocolates and sprinkles so i went nuts! I raided Big Lots clearance sections and got all the tableware for 50% off! Some of those were only .50 cents! YA CAN'T GO WRONG WITH THAT!!! And as for my little banner there i just bought some napkins and cut them into the shape of a triangle on the open side and hung them over the ribbon and taped them in place. I used napkins for the flowers as well. I totally borrowed that idea from this FIESTA FORTY party... but as you can see... she ROCKED them flowers! I'm in the process of planning my son's 3rd birthday party... in November. I've been planning this since he turned 2 :D Hopefully I can have this whole table thing DOWN by then... cross your fingers... AND YER HOOKS!!!!!

HELLO? ANYBODY HERE?

So... I'm pretty new at this. In fact, Id rather be on here obsessing over OTHER people's blogs :D That's definitely entertaining to me. Somehow I've been convinced (by my Husband and specific friends of mine :::whispering::: i won't mention names... ahem!) to do this whole blog thing. Here's the deal... I work with balls. Yep, I know! Big ones, small ones, weirdly shaped ones that suddenly aren't balls anymore... hm... also some cute ones that end up looking like sweet little animals :D And funny thing is almost everyone I know wants to take a bite out of them! Confusing you? Ya... I thought so. Let's get a little more specific here:

What were YOU thinking?? This is it... the very first batch of cake pops I ever made... THE WORST MEMORY OF MY LIFE! First of all these things were GINORMOUS! Im gonna say these puppies were just a taaaaad bit smaller than a tennis ball! Really... I remember being so mad and wondering why I couldn't come up with a batch of 48 balls for the LIFE OF ME! :/ I ended up going to the store to buy another box of cake mix to make up for the missing pops and the ones lost in action during the process. It didn't matter to me though. At this point I was SUCKED in by my worst enemy... Myself. I was determined to get these going and making them right! Sooooooo, I practiced. And practiced. And practiced... and 3 months later made these for my sons 2nd Birthday:

Yes, you're right. There are TONS of cracks, ribbon curling is obviously not my number one talent, and some of those potato heads were looking a bit on the bumpy side. Yet, EVERYONE LOVED THEM! Including the Mommy of the kid I flippin' just about POISONED! (Peanut allergy + Peanut butter candy melts = the sound of a 3 year old clearing his throat and complaining about being itchy within seconds... And I'm a preschool teacher...) At this point I'm thinking, "If everyone loves these... How much more will the love them when I get more practice..." So, I continued to practice. And practice. And... well, you get it. And here I am today:

My name is Nessa.
I am 28 years old.
I am mommy of a 2.75 year old boy named Kaeden.
I am a wife to my high school sweetheart Kollin.
I AM...
